3M™ Scotchlite™
3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material uses retro-reflective technology to illuminate all kinds of surfaces. We use it throughout our Tenacious Work Gear® to illuminate workers. The magic is in the thousands of microscopic glass beads or prisms built into the material. In low-light c?onditions, 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material returns light rays straight back to the original source – most often headlights and their associated drivers and equipment operators. Voila, worker seen and reacted to. And when it comes to visibility, washability and durability, 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material is the brand you can trust for reflective performance.

3M™ Thinsulate™
3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation can be found in our thermal gloves and jackets for the ultimate in warmth and comfort. Made up of unique microfibers, 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation works by trapping air molecules between you and the outside. The more air a material traps in a given space‚ the better it insulates from the cold outside air. Because the fibers in Thinsulate™ insulation are finer than the fibers used in most other synthetic or natural insulation‚ they trap more air in less space which naturally makes Thinsulate™ insulation a superior insulator.

Hands-free LED Lighting
We have built state-of-the-art LED lights into some of our headwear and winter liners offerings, designed to illuminate projects and workspaces without the need to hold a flashlight or don a bulky headlamp. This productivity-boosting enhancement combines two ultra-bright LEDs in the brim for longer distance lighting with two LEDs under the brim for close-up tasks. The LEDs are powered by four replaceable lithium-ion batteries that provide up to 30 hours of continuous light while the LEDs themselves are built to last over 100,000 hours. If you’ve had your hat for 100,000 hours, you might need a new hat!

Hot Rox™ Technology
Although it might look like you’ve joined the “dark side,” this technologically-advanced, breath-warming apparatus offers the best in cold stress prevention. By keeping cold air out and warm air in, it helps a worker breathe warm, so they stay warm – even on the coldest of days. That means you’re breathing room temp air, even when it’s 14 degrees below “I Can’t Feel My Hands!”.
Helping prevent rapid loss of body heat, the new Hot Rox™ balaclava captures heat from each exhaled breath and brings it back to our body’s core -- easing breathing and allowing workers to maintain full lung capacity in the most extreme winter conditions. How does it work? Once comfortably in place, the air leaving the mouth is directed through the chambers of the Hot Rox™ module, storing the heat and water vapor from the exhaled breath. As the wearer inhales, the cold ambient air travels back through the chambers of the Hot Rox™ module, picking up the stored heat and water vapor, so the air is humidified and warm as it enters the body.
Besides battling cryogenic cold, the Hot Rox™ Heat Exchanger can be machine washed with the face mask, which makes mom happy.”

NobleTek™ Insulation
The key technology behind NobleTek ™ insulation is Argon, a colorless, odorless inert member of the “noble gas” family. These gasses make up about 1% of the earth’s atmosphere and you’re breathing them in right now! Argon is an extremely effective insulator due to its low thermal conductivity. And that’s why you’ll find Argon in the NEW N-Ferno® 6900 Warming Vest, where it provides 3 times the insulation of down or other fiber insulations. Beyond its remarkable insulating properties, Argon is dynamic, meaning you can easily vary the thickness of your vest—and thus its warmth – as the climate changes. Variable warmth – what a gas!

Nomex®
Nomex® IIIA fabric from DuPont™ is a flame resistant material made up of 93 percent Nomex® fiber, with 5 percent Kevlar® fiber added for break-open resistance and 2 percent P140 added for improved antistatic performance. Workers wearing Nomex® benefit from lighter fabric weights that increase comfort and coolness, breathable fabrics that enable air flow to transfer heat away from the body and wicking that rapidly spreads moisture on the fabric surface to increase evaporation and cooling. This fabric is used in select N-Ferno® Warming Products.

Nu202 ® Gel
Ergodyne ANSI-Certified AV hand protection products are constructed with Nu202 ®, a patented material designed to adsorb harmful occupational vibration. Nu202 ® works in tandem with other glove components to suck the vibration out of dangerous tools so you don’t have to.
By adsorbing and displacing bad vibes before they have a chance to jiggle into your bod, Nu202 ® helps reduce the risk of long-term medical mayhem like Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS), an irreversible debilitating condition.

Open Center Stay™
Another patented Ergodyne feature, this innovative wrist support stay provides both comfort and support. The unique “open center” design reduces pressure on the median nerve to help reduce some of the risks for carpal tunnel syndrome. Traditional stays are often stiff plastic or even old-school metal. We use hi-grade Nylon 66 Zytel which limits motion for support while remaining slightly flexible for superior comfort because your support should work with your body, not against it.
The Open Center Stay™ can be found on select ProFlex® Wrist Supports as well as two ProFlex® Vibration Reducing Gloves.

OutDry®
Simply put, OutDry® is the most advanced waterproof/windproof technology available. Used in high-end extreme sports and outdoor products, OutDry’s patented lamination process produces a bonded waterproof/windproof membrane by uniformly sealing the glove shell with an ultra-thin .03mm membrane – no insert! Without the extra bulk of a traditional insert, gloves with OutDry® are thinner while still being warmer, drier and providing superior dexterity. And with no separate insert inside, the days of pulling out your liner and ruining your gloves are over!
