Leon Hoffmann

Vice President, Finance & Operations

As Vice President of Finance and Operations, Leon Hoffmann brings more than 30 years of experience to ergodyne. His expertise in business finance and operation strategies has helped Ergodyne become a leading provider of gear and accessories for worker safety, comfort and productivity. 

 

Hoffmann joined ergodyne in 1992 and directs finance, human resources, information services, distribution and manufacturing activities for the company. His primary responsibility is to oversee and streamline operations to increase service levels through effective cost control and higher quality products.

 

Since becoming a member of the ergodyne team, Hoffmann has improved on-time delivery rates from 60 to 98 percent, and restructured manufacturing and purchasing programs to better benefit customers. He successfully led the company through a self-certification process to achieve ISO 9000 standards and full compliance with FDA Quality System Regulation.

 

Hoffmann began his career at Champion International Corporation where he served as an internal auditor and division controller. He then joined Minneapolis-based Poly-Tech, a subsidiary of Carlisle Plastics, where he worked for more than a decade as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. While at Poly-Tech, Hoffmann managed numerous mergers, acquisitions and market expansion programs which ultimately resulted in the company growing from $30 to $350 million in 12 years while Poly-Tech was a public company traded on the NASDAQ exchange.

 

Hoffmann attended Mankato State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is an active member of the Financial Executives Institute, Institute of Management Accountants and American Society for Quality Control and others. Hoffmann has also shared his industry expertise as a featured speaker for organizations including the National Retail Federation, St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and The Collaborative.

 

A Minnesota native, Hoffmann lives in the Minneapolis suburb of Burnsville with his family.
