St. Paul, Minn. (February 17, 2011) – Ergodyne announced today the official launch of SHAX™ Portable Work Shelters– including a Pop-Up Series (6000 Utility 10’x10’ Tent and 6020 Lightweight 10’x10’ Tent)  as well as a Seating Series (6030 Stool, 6040 Stool with Back, and 6060 Armchair). 

Engineered with the jobsite – not the backyard – in mind, these portable tents offer instant shelter and durable features like powder-coated steel frames and a rugged Polyester shell with PU and UV coatings. No matter where the job takes you, SHAX™ Portable Work Shelters are there to provide versatile, durable protection from the elements.

The tents boast a 10’x10’ footprint, yet are easy to assemble and lightweight (less than 50 lbs.). SHAX™ seating comes in backless (6030) and backed (6040 & 6060) versions for workers to take a load off and stay cool in the shade.

Ideal for workers who could fall victim to heat stress illnesses, shelters like SHAX™ are more than recommended in some states like California – they are required. California’s OSHA board recently strengthened their regulations by requiring employers to provide an area with shade (canopies, umbrellas, or other temporary structures that block direct sunlight) above a certain temperature (see California Code of Regs, Title 8, 3395(d)). With workers putting in longer hours in increasingly severe climates, understanding heat stress and how to prevent it is vital to keeping workers safe on the job.
