ERGODYNE EXPANDS PROFLEX KNEE PAD LINE
COMPANY INTRODUCES NEW GEL SERIES
ST. PAUL, Minn. (December 9, 2008) – Ergodyne today announced that it is expanding its ProFlex® knee pad line by adding a new Gel Series, including both injected and honeycomb gel options. The company is also releasing several new light duty foam knee pads. The announced line expansions add several patented designs to the company’s current knee pad offering and roughly double its size.
With an aging workforce and more than six million knee injuries reported each year, providing protection for the body’s largest joint is increasingly critical. But a single knee pad design will not serve every task. With the many advanced designs available in Ergodyne’s new Gel Series, workers can easily find the right knee pad for their particular application.
“Whether workers find themselves on their knees all day, getting up and down, on uneven surfaces, or in other tough situations, they’ll be able to find the right knee pad for all-day comfort and protection in the ProFlex line,” said Tom Votel, president and CEO of Ergodyne. “Our new knee pad expansion clearly establishes Ergodyne as a premier knee pad supplier.”
New Injected Gel Knee Pads
Ergodyne’s injected gel knee pads (models 342, 345 and 355) feature top-of-the-line comfort and quality. Their three-layer padding is built around an injection of the industry’s highest quality gel into both neoprene and PU foam. This construction method ensures superior padding and support, along with maximum padded coverage. Injected gel padding cannot slide out of position.
New Honeycomb Gel Knee Pads
Lightweight honeycomb gel knee pads (models 347, 357 and 367) are built around a “honey-combed” gel insert. This gives them much the same comfort of injected gel while weighing up to 50 percent less.
Advanced Features
Five of the injected gel and honeycomb gel models feature a patented suspension cap designed to more efficiently distribute stress across the entire knee. This unique design suspends the knee off the ground and unloads weight from the patella, a pressure-dispersing configuration that reduces knee discomfort better than competitive models.
Additional ergonomic features are built into both injected and honeycomb gel styles. For example, the advanced molded covers deliver stability on any terrain and surface. In addition, straps are positioned lower and are surrounded by soft elastic sleeves to eliminate irritation and hold the knee pad comfortably in place.
In addition to the new Gel Series, Ergodyne has also added new light duty foam knee pads to its Standard Series for moderate knee protection at an economical price. Options include knee pads that grip wet or dry work surfaces and offer extra shin protection. Among the models are those that include a hard cap knee pad for pivoting, a rubber knee pad that won’t damage or mark delicate work surfaces, a copolymer knee pad that requires no breaking in, and a rubber accordion-style knee pad that seals out debris and water.
