St. Paul, Minn. (December 20, 2012) – Ergodyne announced today their partnership with Eric Larsen, Polar Explorer, as a major sponsor for his 2013 Cycle South Expedition. Having successfully completed his world record setting Save the Poles Expedition in 2010 in which he achieved the goal of reaching the summit of Mount Everest and trekking to both poles in one year, Larsen is now preparing to set yet another world record – biking nearly 750 miles across the Antarctic continent to the geographic South Pole.

“I am very excited to partner with Ergodyne for the 2013 Cycle South Expedition,” Larsen said. “Ergodyne gear will be critical to my comfort, safety and ultimately, my success in Antarctica. And while they are not a typical outdoor brand, Ergodyne products are so rugged and reliable that the decision to use their products was easy.”

Ergodyne has provided gear for Larsen’s upcoming travels that will help him battle the cold and increase his productivity. Items like the CORE Performance Work Wear® 6435 Long Sleeve Base Layer Shirt, CORE Performance Work Wear® 6485 Multi-Band, Arsenal® 5030 Water Resistant Duffel Bag and Squids® Tie Hooks will be braving the elements with Larsen as he journeys across no man’s land. Additionally, Ergodyne and Larsen created a custom version of the popular ProFlex® 819OD Glove, featuring OutDry® waterproofing technology, 100g 3M Thinsulate and dual layer digital leather palms for enhanced warmth and dexterity.

“Eric has a love for innovation and exploration that we share,” said Tom Votel, president and CEO. “While shattering world records, Eric will also put our Tenacious Work Gear® to the ultimate cold weather test. If it keeps him productive and protected in that harsh environment, it will certainly keep workers happy in their WorkZones.”

Larsen’s trip kicked off December 17 and Ergodyne will keep close track of the expedition on their new interactive website – tune in to the Cycle South Expedition page for all the latest details.
