2019 // INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN
New partnerships forged. Three-and-half decades celebrated. Pioneering (and award-winning) innovations launched. Tracks laid for the next XXXV.
How do you follow up a year like 2018?
For starters: Doubling down on our commitment to the tireless legion of men and women trusting us to cover their you-know-whats with more than BS superlatives and subpar solutions.
As you’ve heard, we’ve teamed up with the family Klein to heavily skew the odds in the workers’ favor – an exciting partnership with an iconic brand 161 years into their own amazing story. The need to improve, expand and bring innovative solutions to the job is inherent and central to us both. At our very core is a shared mission to do right by those who do real work.
We’re not here to let them down.
This means continuing our quest into parts unknown, cutting a trail towards a future where safety gear is highly functional, durable, maybe even beautiful! And then, of course, connected in a way that will predict and prevent workplace mishaps before they even happen.
Ergodyne distributors, safety managers and workers can expect the same continuous flow of innovation and support. They can expect their needs will continue to be met with urgency and sincerity. And never, not for one second, should they expect anything less.
ICYMI // 2018 WAS ONE FOR THE BOOKS
Big innovation! Big news! Big parties! 2018 was… well… big.
35 YEARS OF TENACITY
A year-long celebration of a story 35 years in the making (and counting) culminated during NSC as friends, family and colleagues packed the House of Blues – and the dance floor – to celebrate and shake a tailfeather to soul/funk legends Tower of Power.
In between: retro-themed giveaways, stories, special playlists inspired by the times (because a party without music is really just a bunch of people filling awkward silences with queso dip), and cross-country trips to meet the the ones putting tenacity to work A.K.A. the real heroes of this story (see videos below).
SETTING A HIGHER STANDARD
Recognizing the pressing need for formal guidelines within the category of Objects at Heights, leading safety equipment manufacturers like Ergodyne joined forces with the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) to develop a standard for tethering and transporting tools and equipment. ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 is the first standard for this type of equipment.
“This is big because it establishes tethering systems and containers as the best practice when it comes to falling object safety,” said Nate Bohmbach, product director at Ergodyne and the chairman of the ISEA committee that developed the standard. “To date, many have been content with PPE such as hard hats or administrative controls such as barricade tape, but those do not prevent items from falling, nor do they eliminate potential injury. Tethering systems prevent the items from falling altogether.”

ALWAYS INNOVATING, NEVER STAGNATING
Churning out the most Tenacious Work Gear® known to man is a nonstop fight against the forces of complacency and mindless trends. And the moment you think you’ve won, you’ve definitely lost. 2018 saw some of our most exciting innovations to date, including the next evolution in tool tethering (tested to the new standard, of course): An entire family of one-step lanyard attachments for tools and instrumentation, including one OH&S New Product of the Year winner (Slips™ Hand Tool Attachment Traps).
