"I’m excited to share that as of June 1, Ergodyne will officially launch our hybrid return-to-office work week.
This new structure will bring our entire crackerjack team back to the Orange Planet Monday through Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday designated as 'Flex Days'. On Flex Days, folks are still expected to work regular hours, join meetings, etc... but can do so from wherever they choose.
Amidst a mask lift and flurry of return-to-office announcements, our company—like Nike and other progressive organizations—agrees that a balanced hybrid approach seems to be the ticket. We announced this a month ago to our people who received the news with broad support and eagerness. We miss our time together. We love our culture and want to protect it while incorporating the newfound flexibility that this past year has demonstrated can be successful thanks to technology and our hardworking folks. This new model allows people to ease back in after more than a year of a completely altered work experience, without putting an inflexible stake in the ground on a one-way-or-the-other extreme—because that’s never been how we’ve rolled.
To put any Covid-19 transmission concerns at ease for our people, we will continue our always-on commitment to safety and follow the CDC’s guidance. We’re also encouraging all of our people to get vaccinated, and I’m happy to say we are well on our way with 94% having done so.
In addition to Flex Days, we’ve decided to continue half-day Friday hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Summer in the North is glorious but too short and we want our people to take full advantage of the great weather and time with their families. While our new structure inherently provides more flexibility, being face-to-face three days will be incredibly important to deliver and drive high impact innovation, a positive culture and more.
As most of you know, these sorts of plans and, frankly, paradigm shifts, do not come easy. We have a dedicated team who put in a tremendous effort to build thoughtful guidelines that ultimately feel right for all of us. For that, I am both eternally proud and grateful.
