  • URS washington group
  • 23-Construction 1505
  • Carpenter
  • Scaffold Builder
  • First thing in the morning my crew of four receives a job packet for the scaffolds that need to be built that day. We go into the process part of the refinery and get permits from the operator. Then measure the scaffold then get material and build.

  • 10 yr.

  • The toughest thing is getting our material where we need it . On a lot of locations, we have to build scaffold on top of a 100 foot plus tower. Our small parts usually go up and down in a canvas bag and they get heavy.

  • Building a 120 foot free standing stair tower out of cup lock scaffold.

  • Hard hat ,safety glasses, full body harness, double lanyard, knee pads, fitted grip gloves, frc(fire rated clothes) beam strap and safety toed boots.

  • I love what I do and where I do it (refinery). Eat healthy, try to stay positive.

My Gear Reviews

  1. ProFlex® 925F(x)OD Thermal Waterproof Dorsal Impact-Reducing Gloves w/ OutDry®

    Your Review
When I first opened the box with the 925F(x)OD's I thought they were just sweet looking.
Then I put them on and was even more impressed. These gloves are very comfortable. I was working nights when they were delivered so I wore them to work that night. I was a little worried about them being too thick to do my job so I just used them on the ground handling the scaffold parts loading unloading the truck. Later that night I felt comfortable enough to go up in the air building. I did not have a problem. I was grabbing my hammer out of my tool belt, stabbing legs, setting rails, locking cups and tying wire. I have been waiting 20 years for a pair of cold climate gloves like these ones that keep my hands warm, protected all the way around and still allow me to do what I have to do.
