  • I work mostly outside in the elements, delivering welding consumables. I'm on rough jobsites most of the day, as well as working around locomotives and manufacturing.

  • 11 years

  • Weather, physical demands.

  • Saving a very large account from a competitor

  • I need cold weather and hot weather gear, including gloves and cooling devices. I will also need storage and organizational products. Safety is important too, so anything that will help keep me safe and ergonomic would be great.

  • Kids, motorcycle riding, snowboarding, rally cars, dogs!

My Gear Reviews

  1. Arsenal® 5143 General Duty Gear Backpack

    Your Review
Great backpack!! I use the the pack for dirtbike riding and it works great. I keep tools, water reservoir, lateral transfer surface, GPS, tubes, etc. and it holds everything well. It’s held up well and is very convenient. The only thing I’d like on it is a quick release chest strap to keep the straps held closer to each other.

  2. Arsenal® 5005 Large Fire & Rescue Gear Bag

    Your Review
I’ve been using the 5005 Fire Bag, mainly when I go dirt bike riding. Several weekends ago, my buddies and I went riding south of Boise. There were 8 of us and we took off for a ~40 mile ride on a Sunday afternoon. My bag is able to carry all of my gear, including helmet, chest protector, boots, pants, jersey, and hydration pack that includes a first responder kit (key to the story!). The trail network is vast, so we headed out and rode ~15 miles before we stopped for a break. We ride with all levels of riders so 15 miles takes up to 2 hours to ride. After our break we headed up a trail none of us had ridden in the past. Our fast guys took off and the slower riders were in tow. About 300 yards up the trail, one of our leaders had gone down hard, no one saw what happened. As we processed what was going on, it became abundantly clear that something major had happened, as it was obvious from our downed rider’s condition that he had at least one fractured arm, which turned out to be two, including a compound. We had a nurse riding with us who, with the use of a first responder kit, was able to triage and stabilize the rider for air transport. With all the storage available, I was able to carry the First Aid kit, GPS unit, cell phone, and other tools necessary.

  3. N-Ferno® 6463 Thermal Vest

    Your Review
So, I’m not usually a vest guy. Either I’m too hot or too cold and a vest usually never works for me. This thermal vest changed everything. I spend a ton of time outside in the cold of winter, out and about on customer sites in inclement weather. Because it’s physical work, I’m usually too warm. I decided to grab my thermal vest one day and I couldn’t belive I hadn’t used it sooner. Very warm but not overly, and allows venting in the spots you need it. The reinforced areas are just where you need them and plenty of storage too. I use this as my top layer when trail riding as well. This vest rocks!!!
