Accounting Manager

 

Job Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for general accounting functions including financial reporting, GL & bank reconciliations and journal entries, variance analysis, month and year-end close processes. They will manage the annual audit process as well as any other periodic audit requests. They will work with our product management team to assist in evaluating the financial success of new product launches. They will manage the AR/AP team providing any necessary clarifications and guidance. They will review credits produced by the customer service team for accuracy. They will set up new customers (including credit limit determination). They will work in our reporting software (Prophix) to build reports which will create value for others (both inside and outside the finance department). They will be cross-trained as necessary to enable them to step in if other team members are out. And, of course, other duties as assigned.

 

You have already accomplished (required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years General Accounting with an emphasis on account reconciliations, GAAP based accounting, variance analysis with progressive responsibilities, including management experience in a team environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
  • ERP System experience (GP, NAV, PeopleSoft or other enterprise level software suite)
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, investigative, and presentation skills. Able to analyze data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations
 

You may have already accomplished (preferred):

  • CPA certification
  • Manage complex tasks or projects
  • Knowledge and engagement of accounting best practices, period closing processes and internal controls
  • Background with our systems: Microsoft Dynamics GP, SQL, Prophix, Microsoft CRM
