Product Description
The N-Ferno 6464 Insulated Freezer Jacket with AmpiFIRE™ Heat Reflective Lining is rated to -60°F // -51°C conditions for up to 5 hours of moderate work activity in freezer cold storage facilities. AmpliFIRE™ aluminum insulation captures, reflects and traps body heat, and the 100% ripstop polyester exterior ensures the jacket delivers warmth, comfort and durability.
For additional functionality, the jacket includes oversized front pockets and a pen/stylus holder for ample storage and easy access, even when wearing gloves. Rib-knit cuffs and drawstring cord at the bottom of the jacket help seal out the cold and wind, while heavy-duty zippers with storm flaps offer extra protection against harsh weather. Added lime background material enhances visibility in low-light conditions.
A clearly visible exterior size label allows wearers to instantly recognize and select their ideal jacket size. This jacket features a built-in mic tab and d-rings to provide easy access to radios, scanners, ID badges and keys. Designed for practicality, the jacket is machine washable for effortless cleaning and care.
3M™ THINSULATE™ INSULATION
Designed with 250g of 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation, this jacket traps heat for warmth in extreme cold, ranging from -20°F to -60°F (-29°C to -51°C). The 3M Thinsulate is 30% thinner in profile compared to standard poly fill and has a higher loft design, making it condense at a much slower rate and offers more thermal retention than standard poly fill—increasing its life integrity. Minimized washing will extend the overall life of the thermal, insulated garment.
CLO RATINGS
Insulation performance is measured by CLO ratings—which is a unit of thermal resistance that indicates insulating ability. The higher the CLO value, the higher the amount of warmth a piece of clothing provides.
To determine temperature ratings, CLO factors, Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) and the time or duration of a task are considered. MET levels are categorized into 3 groups:
- “Low” range (0-3 MET) // forklift driver, equipment operator
- “Moderate” range (3-6 MET) // picking & packaging, delivery drivers
- “Vigorous” range (>6 MET) // concrete work, tower climber
Some warehouses and facilities are more manual in nature, leading to higher MET levels, while others rely on automation, resulting in lower MET levels. N-Ferno 6464 Deep Freezer Jacket has a CLO rating of 4.4 and is rated at a moderate work level in -60°F // -51°C temperatures for up to 5 hours.
Ideal for those working in freezer cold storage facility freezer rooms. Also designed for outdoor workers in any industry, from construction to mining and outdoor recreational activities such as hiking or snowmobiling.
